Description: The name Rocca delle Macie is synonymous with quality and good value. The company was started by film-maker, Italo Zingarelli, in 1973. He began with one hectare of vineyard and out of sheer enthusiasm for winemaking, developed the business, acquiring two prestigious estates, and now cultivates 300ha of vineyards.

The winery is now in the hands of the son, Sergio, who, like his father, lays great importance on the careful selection of grape varieties, careful pruning and the use of organic fertilisers to enhance the maximum ripening of the fruit.

A wine dominated by Sangiovese with a little Canaiolo, Merlot and Malvasia di Chianti. A fine, subtle bouquet that is moderately spicy this full bodied wine with rich berry-fruit flavours and an ample dose of tannin delivers through to the enjoyable finish. Very pleasant, bright, ruby red wine, with aromas of mature fruits and a medium, well balanced flavour. Produced with grapes from estates situated in the heart of the historical zone of Chianti Classico. Vinification is obtained through maceration of the must with the skins for 8-10 days with short and frequent 'pumping over' to extract colour, matured in oak barrels for at least 6 months. Ruby red colour, tending towards garnet; intense but delicate bouquet, moderately spicy with great finesse; full bodied with rich berry-fruit flavours and a backbone of tannin. Produced with grapes exclusively from the Fizzano vineyard, one of the properties of Rocca delle Macie. The grapes destined for the Riserva di Fizzano are carefully selected in the best part of the harvest and vinification of this superb wine happens only in exceptional years. The wine is matured in oak barrels for over two years and then again in the bottle for almost a year (6 x 75 cl)
Rocca delle Macie CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA DOCG Tuscany
Ruby red colour, tending towards garnet; rich, intense and complex bouquet, gently tannic with a rich aroma of ripe fruits and good structure. The wine comes from the farms of Rocca delle Macie, situated in the most prestigious area of Chianti Classico in the commune of Castellina in Chianti.Selected grapes; once fermentation is complete, matured in oak for at least two year. It is then matured in bottle for at least 6 months (12 x 75 cl)

A superb, noble and wonderfully smooth wine with deep berry and fruit flavours, hints of spice, peppers; full, dry and elegant and with good tannins. The grapes come from the 'Castello di Carmignano' in the commune of Montalcino. After a long maceration on the skins and the following racking, the wine is aged for over 3 years in oak casks and afterwards in the bottle before release. (6 x 75 cl)
Rocca delle Macie VIN SANTO Colli dell Etruria Centrale DOC Tuscany
After harvest, grapes are dried on cane mats and pressed around November, fermented and aged in oak casks. Golden yellow in colour, intense bouquet with a distinctive aroma of almonds, medium dry taste, slightly aromatic. (6 x 50 cl)

Dry ruby red wine with a rich and persistent aroma, well-balanced tannins with a touch of oakiness and lingering flavour; classify as Super Tuscan. Grapes come exclusively from the estates of Rocca delle Macie, in the Chianti Classico area. The vinification is the traditional one for Chianti wines. The difference is in the ageing process, where the wine is aged in barrique, small barrels of 225 litres, made of French oak. (6 x 75 cl)
