This small, 4 ha estate on the southern banks of Lake Garda at Moniga is owned by the Vezzola family. In the words of Costaripa’s Mattia Vezzola, the vineyard is 'One of the world’s northernmost territories to have a nearly Mediterranean climate, where lemon trees, citron trees, olive groves, vineyards, cypresses and agave abound'. As far back as 1896, the property now belonging to Mattia and his brother Imer was planted to the strictest criteria by a team of Bordeaux agronomists. At that time, the owner was a Venetian senator who took wine every bit as seriously as an affair of state. In the early 1970s, the estate took the name of Costaripa , from its superb exposure. As the second generation of the Mattia's was followed by a third, the winery went from strength to strength. Recently a new vineyard has been aquired and the estate now counts a little over 88 acres under vine. A Cuvee of extraordinary finesse, the peak of pas dose sparkling wines. Crystal clear with an outstanding, slightly toasty nose. An incomparably soft wine with mouth-filling finish. Available in Magnum bottles. (6 x 1.5 Litres)
