Description:
This Rosso is produced after a careful manual selection of the same grapes used to create the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. Here the period of time spent in the winery is a little shorter, 1 year in 225lt. Barriques and in bottle only for a period of 4 months.
The result is an intense ruby red coloured wine showing very fruity aromas with intense hints of raspberry, vanilla and wild flowers.
This Brunello is a cru and produced after a careful selection of the best grapes from a single vineyard on our property, called Sassello. Aged 2 years in French or American oak barriques of 225 litre capacity which are renewed each year this wine is released after a period of 8 months in bottle. Intense ruby red with slight garnet reflections, this wine is showing a persistent and complex aroma with hints of vanilla, licquorice and fruit of the woods. (6 x 75 cl)
Each year Poggiolo select the optimum Brunello di Montalcino vineyard. Here great care from the vineyard to the winery is taken to produce a small quantity of In Riva Al Fosso. In the vineyard they commence the final pruning some 30 days prior to the harvest, next they sever 50% of the crop at the vine and allow these to wither on the vine until they are harvested together with the remaining grapes. Once in the winery fermentation is undertaken and vinification in Oak Tonneau of 500 lt with manual circulation of the must rather than mechanical pumping occurs. Finally, ageing in 500 litre wooden vats takes place for 1 year, here, the vats are purpose built using three different types of wood and replaced each year. (6 x 75 cl)
To add a certain character to this wine, Poggiolo select and harvest only the very best grapes from their own vineyards to produce this exquisite Brunello. Aged 2 years in 500lt. oak Tonneau and in 225lt. French oak Barriques in different percetages, depending on the quality of each vintage, it is finally aged in bottle 8 months before release. This has produced a dark, brilliant ruby red coloured wine with a tendency to turn garnet with age. The aromas are showing an extremely persistent, full style with hints of liquorice and fruit of the woods. The dark wood flavours develop on the palate through to the long finish of this well made wine. (6 x 75 cl)
This Brunello is a cru and produced after a careful selection of the best grapes from a single vineyard on Poggiolo's property and ages for a period of 24 months always in new French oak Tonneau, finally it spends 8 months in bottle before release. Deep ruby red coloured wine showing an intense, potent elegant aroma with floral hints of violets and raspberry, in perfect harmony with traces of spices and vanilla. (6 x 75 cl)
Il Paradiso di Manfredi is a tiny estate of 2.5 hectares in the heart of Montalcino. Manfredi purchased the estate in 1958 and worked on it throughout his life until he died in 1982 when his son Florio took over. Adopting many biodynamic methods and hand picking the fruit, great care is taken from the vineyard to the winery. After spending about 10 months in Slovonian oak this deep dark Sangiovese wine is showing good dark fruit aromas that develop on the palate and through to the good finish. (6 x 75 cl)
A modern style Brunello di Montalcino that was only aged in small oak barrels for 2 years. The result is a wine showing aromas of fine cedar and characterised by supple, velvety fruit that are well balanced and fresh through to the finish. (6 x 75 cl)
