Oyster Bay Merlot Hawke's Bay New Zealand
The philosophy of Oyster Bay is to produce fine, distinctly regional wines that are elegant and assertive with glorious fruit flavours. A vibrant merlot showing intensity of fruit but the hero is always freshness of ripe fruit, spice and soft tannins on the palate. The Hawkes Bay wine region is arguably the most exciting find in recent times for the cultivation of merlot in New Zealand. Ancient alluvial river terraces provide for a superb mix of soils over gravelly, free-draining sub soils, with an abundance of pure river water for irrigation. With a temperate maritime climate, the vines are warmed by strong clear sunlight during the day and cooled at night by the sea breezes of the Pacific Ocean. This is the unique environment in which merlot produces its vibrant, fully ripened varietal flavours. (12 x 75 cl)

Craggy Range LE SOL Syrah Gimblett Gravels Hawke's Bay NZ
BRIEF TASTING NOTE Unique, heady, seductive wine with enormous complexity, extract and length. Great cellaring potential WINE NOTES Intense bright, deep black/purple colours, almost opaque. Heady aromas of black berry fruits, exotic spices and black pepper, along with complex dust and sweet blueberry aromas. The palate promises almost exactly the same and while again rich and heady, maintains and tightness of structure and fineness of tannin that is a hallmark of this style. The tannins feel coated in a sweet covering and acidity is beautifully integrated providing length and potential for longevity. (12 x 75 cl)

Morton Estate COLEFIELD Sauvignon Blanc Hawke's Bay NZ
Ideal, slightly cooler summer growing conditions allowed the fruit for this wine to be held on the vine to achieve high sugar levels while still retaining strong varietal characters. Fruit aromas of gooseberry and tropical fruit are underpinned by a delicate herbaceousness. The palate has lovely fullness, due to the sweetness and moderate alcohol, and is balanced by a refreshing acidity. The intense varietal characters are lingering and give great length of flavour to this superb wine.
