Description:		Some 120 acres were planted 25 years ago at Bimbadgen - meaning "lovely views" - among the foothills of the Brokenback range in the Pokolbin region of the Hunter valley. These vineyards are managed to produce low yields (2 - 2.5 tonnes per acre) and are picked by hand. The Signature range is the pinnacle of the Bimbadgen Estate selection and today is one of the most respected names in the Hunter Valley. Fermentation temperatures are very low by European standards - 12 C for the whites and 18-20 C for the reds, both the Signature and Estate wines are matured in French and American barriques for up to one year. Grand Ridge and Bell Tower, named after the bell tower incorporated into the estate buildings, are made from fruit emanating from their other 100 acres of vines at Yenda in the Griffith area of New South Wales. Although the yields are higher the grapes are harvested at night and vinified with all the same care and attention to detail given to the premium wines.

APPEARANCE Pale straw with green olive tinges. AROMA An aromatic citrus nose with subtle yeast characters PALATE A rich and full flavoured wine with citrus like flavours and fresh acid creating a very balanced style. MADE The grapes were crushed and destemmed, chilled to 5ºC and pressed. The clarified juice was inoculated with a selected yeast strain and cold fermented at 12ºC. The wine was then stabilised, filtered and stored in stainless steel tanks. 18% of the fruit was fermented and aged for four months on yeast lees prior to blending with the unwooded portion. APPEARANCE Medium red in colour with garnet and purple hues AROMA A very complex nose showing clove, spice, earthy, vegemite with stewed plum and blackberry elements. PALATE Medium to full bodied with middle palate fruitiness in a rich, flavoursome style. Complex fruit flavours intermingle with aromatic oak balanced by soft tannins and gentle acid. GROWN At Bimbadgen Estate Vineyard in the foothills of the Brokenback Range in the Hunter Valley, Pokolbin region New South Wales and the coastal undulated hills of the Mount Lofty Ranges in McLaren Vale, South Australia. All our Hunter Vineyards are managed to produce lower yields of about 2 to 2.5 tonnes per acre of high quality fruit to maximise flavour, quality and intensity. All our Hunter Vineyards are drip irrigated to ensure consistency. This is a new style for Bimbadgen incorporated the elegance of the Hunter with the rich fruit characters of Mc Laren Vale.
