From their large, modern premises in Maligny, Jean Durup, his son Jean-Paul and winemaker Michel Poitou fashion traditional, pure, crisp, minerally Chablis from one of the largest family domaines in all Burgundy. (12 x 75 cl)
A fine, rich, gold colour, this wine is still young, but has great intensity on the nose with floral herbaceouness backed by a slatey mineral character. In the mouth it is full and rounded with rich, ripe fruit and a mineral edge, balanced with bracing acidity. It has the longest ageing potential of the Premier Crus and will be age for 10 years quite happily. (12 x 75 cl)
Over the years, Etienne Boileau has established himself as one of the most serious growers in Chablis; he produces a Chablis for every occasion, from Petit Chablis to premier cru. The Montee de Tonnerre vineyard is on the right bank of the Serein river facing south-west and due to the age of the vines yields are reducing to produce wines of great complexity. A well structured premier cru it receives 20% to 40% of new to three year old oak to produce a firm, nutty and mineral style. (12 x 75 cl)
