Continuing the Riefle family's three-century-old tradition of winemaking in Alsace, Rene and Andre Riefle formed Domaine Joseph Riefle et Fils in 1966. The estate is located in Pfaffenheim where Francois Riefle made the family's first wines in the early 18th century. Today the estate is run by Jean-Claude Riefle producing wines that are a reflection of the dry micro climate found in their vineyards. This Pinot Blanc has an almost cheesy, spicy nose. Initially fairly sweet on the palate, it becomes drier towards the finish with exotic grapefruity, pineappley fruit and good counterbalancing acidity. (12 x 75 cl)

Jean-Claude Riefle's wines are a reflection of the dry micro climate found in their vineyards. Here the wines are characterised by the concentration of fruit without being over alcoholic and this has produced a creamy, rich and delicate nose for this Cremant D'Alsace. Made from Pinot Blanc this crisp, light structured and very pleasant wine is showing apple and peach characters that are both zingy and fresh. (6 x 75 cl)
