Domaine Maillard Pere et Fils Chorey les Beaune Blanc AC from France, Burgundy, Chorey-les-Beaune by Domaine Maillard Pere et Fils Chorey les Beaune (6 x 75 cl)
Spicy, peppery nose; classic rendition of Pinot from this little commune; fruity on the palate with good grip; a solid fellow with texture and flavour concentration. The Cornu family established itself in the town of Ladoix in 1870 and founded the domaine shortly thereafter in 1875. Edmond Cornu assumed command of the estate in 1956 and in 1959 began to bottle the fruits of his labour. Up to that time all wines made at the estate had been sold to negociants. However, as the private clientele increased, Cornu also expanded the domaine. With the ascension of his son, Pierre, to full participation in the domaine, this dynamic family has aggressively pursued additional opportunities to acquire prime vineyard sites. (6 x 75 cl)
Pascal Maillard has taken a modern approach to produce this powerful wine that is bursting with pure Pinot aromas. Medium-bodied, with a soily, wet earth, smoked bacon and black fruit character, it has firm but well-integrated tannins on the pleasantly sweet-tasting finish.
