Don Eleuterio Martinez Arzok was born in Barriobusto. In 1861 he bought a house and lands in Oyon and founded the Faustino Group. At the turn of the century the vineyards were totally destroyed by phylloxera. His son Don Faustino Martinez Perez de Albeniz was born in 1904 and, in 1920, he helped his father rebuild and restore the vineyards. Faustino began bottling their wines in 1930 and by 1957 Don Julio Faustino Martinez, the third generation, took over the family business and in 1960, the Faustino brand was created in honour of his father. The Macabeo and Chardonnay grapes come from the bodega's own vineyards and this cava is aged 26 months in lattes. It is a lovely pale yellow coloured wine with powerful, complex and fruity aromas showing hints of raspberries and rose petals. The Palate is fresh, fruity and tasty, while the noticeable acidity is perfectly balanced with other flavours of this is very expressive sparkling wine, with a marked fruity finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Organic. Yet another star wine from this superb Spanish estate. A methode traditionelle, this sparkler has all the hallmarks of a fine vintage Champagne but without the price! Classic yeasty, biscuity nose gives way to a soft, fine palate of buttery fruit, nuts and almonds followed by a persistent and very long finish. Delicious! (12 x 75 cl)
