Description:
Visual Aspect: A good, steady purple, with a few amber reflections. Nose: An attractive, complex, astonishing nose combining notes of fresh berry fruit with candied fruit notes. Palate: Good length, balanced between silky tannins and an evident fruitiness. Aging: This wine should be left in the cellar for 4-5 years to reveal its full potential, and may be aged for 15 years or more Location: valley. This yields two different types of wines: those from the hill on the Volnay side, and those born on the plunging slopes descending towards Beaune. The Clos de Verger is situated on the latter side, resting on a mix of clay and limestone. This ground provides the wine with a solid attack in the mouth, but also great elegance at the finish. Soil: Clay and limestone. Varietal(s): 100% Pinot Noir Winemaking: Whole (not crushed) grapes transferred by gravity into a vat. No yeasts, enzymes or tannins are added, to avoid altering the precious terroir. Maturation lasts 16-18 months in less than 20% new casks. Very light filtration.
