Bonny Doon Vineyard's are near the small town of Bonny Doon, just minutes North of Santa Cruz and it is here that they have produced a rose wine blended from grenache, marsanne, cinsault and sangiovese grapes. This wine is a Provencal style rose with charasmatic aromas of herbs, citrus rind, rosehips and hibiscus along with a very pleasing, mild astringency on the back palate. This makes for a delicious aperitif, and allows the wine to pair much more elegantly with a wide variety of foods. (12 x 75 cl)
Bonny Doon PACIFIC RIM Chenin Blanc Santa Cruz California from USA, California, Santa Cruz by Bonny Doon Vineyard Santa Cruz Zesty/Aromatic Dry Whites (12 x 75 cl)
Randall Grahm continues to make this wine harder and earthier with every vintage. The wine this year suggests sage and tobacco and black cherries, and is fairly tannic. It's sophisticated wine; complex layered and interesting. Far from flamboyant, it's understated and intense, with a dry finish. (12 x 37.5 cl)
If you know Chateauneuf-du-Pape you know that it's sort of a gentle giant, with immense power from Syrah and Mourvedre but also a softness from Grenache. Bonny Doon's version relies more on Grenache than the typical CdP (12 x 75 cl)
It is my pleasure to announce that there is at least one thing in life that appears to improve with time and that is our comprehension of the riesling grape. The Pacific Rim is a bit of a breakthrough. Firstly, we have allowed just the teensiest bit of residual sugar to repose in the finished wine (12 x 75 cl)
