The famous old Rioja house, named after the small hill outside Fuenmayor, received a new lease of life when it was bought in 1973 by the Osborne Group. Vast investments in a new winery and new storage have been made. The intention was, and remains, the production of the highest quality Rioja combining the best of modern and traditional practices. Montecillo Blanco is fresh and fruity in the modern style and made entirely from Viura. All of Montecillo's red wines are made only with Tempranillo. In particularly favourable years a special selection of Tempranillo is made for vinification, prolonged ageing and eventual release as Gran Reserva Especial. These wines do not leave the bodega, where they are kept in perfect conditions, until they are considered to be at peak maturity. Exceptional wine produced from another classic vintage (6 x 75 cl)

Full fruit, spicy vanilla oak. Montecillo use French oak, and make their own barrels: a fine, balanced Reserva. (6 x 75 cl)

A mature gamey nose from perfect cask ageing is followed in the mouth by intense fruit compote and spicy flavours. The finish is long and persistent. (6 x 75 cl)
