Domaine Brusset COTEAUX des TRAVERS Cotes du Rhone Villages Cairanne
This 90 hectare estate in the heart of Southern Rhone was founded by André Brusset in 1947. The domaine, based in the ancient village of Cairanne, is now run by his son Daniel, and grandson Laurent, who was a winemaker. Yields are well below that required by law, and the fruit is of the highest quality. Vinification is traditional, with a small proportion of the harvest undergoing whole bunch fermentation in order to retain the fruitiness of the grapes. The vines for this wine are over 30 years old and the harvest is all by hand. The vinification method is traditional with destalking and the separate vinification of each variety. Fermentation takes place over 12 days in vats, and then ageing takes place for about 10 months with 70% in vats and the remaining 30% in 2 (12 x 75 cl)
