From the vineyard of Jean-Michel Chort in the Entre Deux Mers region of Bordeaux, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc produces a traditional Claret of depth and character, full bodied with deep red fruit flavours and well blanced tannins (12 x 75 cl)
Organic, vegetarian. An old favourite from an excellent new vintage. Deliciously full flavoured and fruity dry white Bordeaux from Serge Rougier, with ripe pear aromas and a very modern and immediate clean style. (12 x 75 cl)
Jean Baptiste Audy Chateau La Garene Entre Deux Mers AC from France, Bordeaux, Entre-deux-Mers by Jean Baptiste Audy Grand Vins de Bordeaux (6 x 75 cl)
Situated in the Entre Deux Mers, Château La Freynelle is a 75 hectare estate, with a mixture of clay and limestone soil. Sourced from vines planted in the early 1980's which are Single or double Guyot trained depending on the strength of the vine and density of the planting which yield 55 to 60 hl/ha. The grapes are picked at full maturity and undergo a traditional vinification with destemming of the harvest. Pneumatic pressing in a vacuum ensures that they are pressed slowly and gently. The temperature is maintained at around 19° during fermentation. The wine is then aged and bottled at the château before release. A classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and a hint of Muscadelle. Aromatic on the nose with hints of gooseberries, citrus and flint that are echoed on the medium to light bodied, crisp, dry palate. A fine example of this much overlooked style. (12 x 75 cl)
Chateau Deville White is a well-balanced wine showing grapefruit tanginess of the Sauvignon complemented by the more vinous qualities of the Semillon grape. Ages more than gracefully. (6 x 75 cl)
