Domaine Heresztyn Grand Cru Clos-St-Denis AOC
An estate founded by a former Polish vineyard worker of Louis Trapet. Domaine Heresztyn has been one of the consistently fine producers in Gevrey Chambertin. However, as Florence Heresztyn increasingly takes the reins, they have clearly reached another level of quality. Clos Saint-Denis is situated in Morey-Saint-Denis between Clos de la Roche and Clos des Lambrays. The vineyard is planted on Liassic and Triassic limestone, a terrain that allows the roots of the vines to delve deep for mineral nourishment. Heresztyn's wine is delightful; the subtle weaving of fragrances hints at a grand cru with nuance rather than sheer power, a point reinforced by the tender fruity palate, aromatic, pretty, oozing finesse. The tannins, nevertheless, remind you that this is a true vin de garde. (12 x 75 cl)

Jean-Claude Boisset Morey Saint Denis Grand Cru Clos de la Roche
Morey-Saint-Denis, nestling in its enclave between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, produces no fewer than five Grands Crus. Forming the northern boundary of the commune, 'Clos de la Roche' takes its name from a rock used by the Celts for their rites. Adjoining 'Latricières-Chambertin', it produces Morey's most robust wines. The soil here is so pebbly and hard to work that it used to exhaust even the toughest growers. These hard brown pieces of limestone make for a very firm wine, but one with the best possible ageing potential. Today, 'Clos de la Roche' covers some 16 hectares. (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Clos Fourtet 1er Grand Cru Classe St-Emilion
Château Clos Fourtet is a St. Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé property located just outside the entrance to the town. It is distinguished by its beautiful ivy-covered manor house and some of the most extensive underground cellars in the region. Clos Fourtet has 19 hectares of vineyards planted with Merlot , Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon . The wine is vinified traditionally and is aged in oak barriques for 18 months. It is bottled unfiltered. Clos Fourtet has had several owners over the years and underwent a mini-renaissance under the stewardship of the Lurtons in the latter half of the last century. Pierre Lurton was the winemaker who really established the property`s reputation as one of the finest on the St. Martin plateau. He left to become winemaker at Cheval Blanc and was replaced by Daniel Alard. In January 2001, Clos Fourtet was bought by Paris businessman Phillipe Cuvelier (12 x 75 cl)
