The Kaferberg Gruner Veltliner has classic perfumes of green and yellow fruit, with soft herb and spice notes. On the palate, the wine has great finesse and power, racy limey acidity, and a cool white pepper spice and mineral character. Fred Loimer has 21 hectares of vineyards divided into 35 parcels of vines planted on seven different soil types in the Kamp valley, to the northwest of Vienna, at an altitude of 220-350 metres above sea level. The wines are made from fruit grown in various of Fred Loimer’s vineyards in the Kamptal region. The wines are fermented to dryness in stainless steel and have great depth and balance, aromatic intensity, lovely definition, and a minerally raciness. They are bottled under stelvin to eliminate cork taint and preserve the pristine flavours that Loimer has captured in the wines. (12 x 75 cl)

The LOIS Grüner Veltliner is very fresh on the nose, with zesty lemon/lime notes and a mineral hint. On the palate, the wine has lively grapefruit and white pepper flavours, good balance and a raciness which lasts through to the finish. (12 x 75 cl)

The south facing Steinmassi sheltered from the cool north winds, produces Riesling of great power that manages to retain the intrinsic elegance of this grape variety. (6 x 75 cl)

Newton Vineyard Unfiltered wines, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot are the wines most closely identified with the heritage and history of the estate. The winery is recognized as an American pioneer of unfiltered wines, a philosophy that adds complexity to the winemaking process and demands meticulousness and attention to detail, but maximizes all the subtle characters of the fruit. Grapes for the profound and powerful Chardonnay are grown on the Newton estate in the Carneros region and other marine-influenced sites where bay breezes and morning fog combine to create the cooler climate idea for full and rich flavor development.
