Col d'Orcia OLMAIA Cabernet IGT della Toscana
Deep ruby red in colour. The bouquet is warm. The taste is intense and persistent with sweet and velvety tannin. The Col d’Orcia Estate covers some 525 hectares near Sant’Angelo in Colle in the southern part of Montalcino, including 80 hectares of vineyards and 100 ha of olive groves. Col d’Orcia is one of Montalcino’s most dynamic wineries, with massive investment in cellar technology and vineyard research. Thanks to consultant Maurizio Castelli and enologist Mario Olivero, the wines are in the modern vein: Brunello di Montalcino has the classic tarry complexity but with a supple structure of fruit and soft tannins. The cru Poggio al Vento comes from 4 hectares vineyard and is widely considered one of the finest modern expressions of Brunello. Rosso di Montalcino is excellent value with delicious ripe strawberry flavour. Ghiaie Bianche is one of the finest of Tuscany’s new crop of oak-fermented Chardonnays: now with a better balance between ripe fruit and toasty oak (6 x 1.5 Litres)

Col D'Orcia BANDITELLA Rosso di Montalcino DOC
The Col D’Orcia estate is one of the oldest companies of Montalcino, being present at the First Exhibition of Italian wines held in Siena in 1933 with the name Fattoria di Sant’Angelo in Colle. The origin of the estate dates back to the first half of the XVIII century when the noble family Delle Ciaia of Siena established an estate in the area of Sant’Angelo in Colle which increased year by year. In the second half of the nineteenth century the ownership was passed to the Servadio family and subsequently to the Franceschi family. In 1973 Count Alberto Marone Cinzano took over the company, with the aim to contribute to the development and success of Montalcino and its Brunello on world markets. From 1977 the company has been under the direction of Edoardo Virano and from 1992 the Col D’Orcia estate is presided over by Count Francesco Marone Cinzano. The estate is located on the southern slope of the Montalcino territory, on hilly lands and extends over 540 hectares, from the Orcia river to the village of Sant’Angelo in Colle. The nature of the soil is undoubtedly favourable to grape growing, with fundamentally loose ground, poor in clay and rich in limestone and inert materials. Banditella is a recent vineyard where clones of Sangiovese, that have been selected over the past 10 years, provide the basis for one of the most excellent expressions of Brunello di Montalcino. After Manual harvest with rigorous selection of the bunches the grapes are immediately separated from the skin and the wine is transferred into new barriques where the malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine then refines in barriques for over one year. A dense ruby red coloured wine with youthful violet hints, it has an intense bouquet so typical of Sangiovese that is elegantly balanced by the noble spices deriving from the refinement in barrique. The fullness and elegance of the massive structure is given by a considerable quantity of noble tannins, while the aftertaste is caressed by the oak that enhances the varietal fruit. (6 x 75 cl)
