Borgo Selene Bianco Sicily

The Borgo Selene Rosso is a blend of Nero d’Avola and Nerello Mascalese. It is smooth and round with upfront red fruit and an ample bouquet reminiscent of of strawberries, plums and juicy morello cherries. The wine hails from winemakers Curatolo in Marsala. The Curatolo family has been producing excellent Marsala and wine for over a century. Since the 1999 vintage Alberto Antonini has acted as a consultant to the Curatolos and brought with him the modern winemaking skills that allow the varieties to express their maximum potential. The Borgo Selene wines are made and blended by Alberto Antonini. (12 x 75 cl)

The grapes are harvested by hand and are fermented at a controlled temperature for 27 days. 30% of the wine is then aged in barriques for 10 months. There follows a period of bottle ageing before the wine is released. (6 x 75 cl)

Again the grapes are hand harvested and fermented at a controlled temperature. Most of the malolactic fermentation takes place in new barriques. The wine is aged for 24 months in barriques followed by a lengthy period of bottle ageing (6 x 75 cl)
