Pasqua TERRE DEL SOLE Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

The vigorous Montepulciano grape is widely planted in the Abruzzi region of Italy, and produces, an excellent value for money wine. It has a vinous bouquet of berry fruits. Medium bodied, ripe, wild berry fruit flavours and a light tannic finish. (12 x 75 cl)

A purple red coloured wine with violet hues and a nose of pleasant intensity, with floral notes and vegetal hints like tobacco and grass cut green. The palate is dry, with medium body and extract, slightly tannic and a bit aggressive. Originating in 1926, when Piero and Gino Coli began their adventure at the gates of Florence. The Coli Brothers decided to seek out and sell the most traditional of wines produced in the Chianti hills, which were then and continue to be the Chianti and Chianti Classico Wines. As years passed, the Coli Wine Cellar expanded, and is now one of the most modern in all of Tuscany, thanks to the vision of the Coli family, who have succeeded in adapting their production methods to the changing developments in the wine market. TASTING NOTES: A juniper infused blueberry character in a superbly elegant version of this deeply colored variety. Floral, yet spicy, plush though elegant this wine has advanced from Pizza companion to noble beverage with ease. As the replanting at Nicodemi is coming to completion, this extremely solid wine is the result of a work in progress: a mix of old vine Montepulciano and younger vines planted to narrowly spaced modern spalier trellising. Aged in Slavonian cask this wine is the classic expression of Montepulciano in the noble terroir of Teramo, a village renown for producing the best Montepulciano grapes in the Abruzzo. (12 x 75 cl)

A distinctly superior Montepulciano with real depth of flavour and great concentration. The palate is full of rich, savoury dried fruit character with a touch of cherry-like sweetness to balance. Softening, well integrated tannins give the palate some grip whilst sublte oak ageing lends a little seasoning. (12 x 75 cl)
