Chateau de Campuget, which belongs to the Dalle family since 1941, is producing great A.O.C. Costieres de Nimes wines. The vineyard of 160 hectares is situated in the heart of the A.O.C. area, between Nimes and Arles, a few kilometres from the right side of the Rhone river. The main characteristic of the 'terroir' is its soil , formed by an accumulation of round stones that had been rolled by many overflows of the Rhone river during the quaternary era. It allows the grapevines to establish their roots deep enough to find the water they need for growing. At the same time they profit of the sunny Mediterranean climate, essential for the good maturation of the grapes. Although equipped with stainless-steel tanks and modern tools, Chateau Campuget wines are made and matured in a traditional way. From its own bottling-line to the air-conditioned warehouse, it can control the quality of the wines from the vineyard to the bottle. Delicious peach and apricot with good freshness and a long finish. (6 x 75 cl)
Daumas Gassac is owned by Aime Guibert de la Vaissiere and is characterised by wines of strong personality, complexity of aromas and extraordinary vinous qualities. As such this has contributed to the success and worldwide recognition of Daumas Gassac, notwithstanding the absence of any appellation status. The vinification is completely classical as carried out in the Medoc; long fermentations , ageing in wooden casks, light fining with egg whites and no filtering of the Reds. This wine is a nice yellow golden colour with a powerful nose full of seductive fruits. The palate is showing fine acidity with a very well balanced structure culminating in a fresh finish with good length. (12 x 75 cl)
During the Middle Ages a small church was erected along the antique Domitian Way between Nimes and Montpellier in the heart of Languedoc Roussillon and named Saint-Paul de Cabrieres. Out of respect to this bygone monument the domain that was built on its ruins bears its name today: Chateau Gres-Saint Paul. Property of the Serviere family since 1830, the 26 ha of vineyards are situated in the commune of Lunel bordering the Mediterranean Sea and overlooking the Camargue and Etang de L'Or. The annual rainfall ranges betwween 600 and 700 mm with uneven distribution where there are 50 to 70 rainless days in summer. During the scorching summer heat the terroir benefits from the evening cool breezes off the nearby Mediterranean Sea, while this cool microclimate at an altitude of almost 50 meters allows the wine to obtain extremely fine aromas. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc has plenty of fruit dominating both the aromas and the palate with good balancing acidity it has an impressive finish. (12 x 75 cl)
