This wine is mouth filling with a lifted ripe perfume, floral notes, and a small influence of citrus. The wine has a perfect balance of fruit sweetness and acidity. The Peregrine Riesling is a delectable dry style Riesling that lingers long on the palate. The fruit for this wine came from the Northburn, Aurora, Ramsay and Dunbar vineyards in the Cromwell basin. Deep Violet in colour showing aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, dark cherry and liquorice that combine with spieces, earthy undertones and perfumed oak notes. The palate is rich, powerful and well structured with fine balanced acidity and velvety tannins. Intensely dark ruby red Pinot Noir showing a complex aroma of ripe dark fruits, hints of game, spice and toasty oak. The palate is rich with beautifully balanced fruit and smokey oak characteristics. Mouthfilling, the silk tannin structure and oak influence add to the persistent finish. Rise-and-Shine Creek is the home of gold mining in Bendigo, Central Otago. The grapes used for this wine are from the Clearvue Vineyard on the northern end of the Bendigo Loop road in the cool climate region of Central Otago. Once in the winery the wine went through 100 per cent malolactic fermentation and was stored in a mixture of new and one and two year old French oak barrels for six months before being stabilised and bottled. Hand picked on a cool autumn morning and gently whole cluster pressed, only free run juice was used for this wine. Fermentation was conducted in stainless steel tanks at low temperature with a specialist strain of Riesling yeast designed to retain aromatics. The wine has an alluring perfume of root-ginger, lantana and limes while the palate is light, taut and crisp. A great wine to drink as an aperitif or with rich creamy foods, it provides an interesting counterpoint in texture with poultry, grilled fish or spicy Asian inspired cuisine. Sealed with a Stelvin® screw cap seal we are confident this wine will reach you in perfect condition. Wild Earth founder Quintin Quider is an expatriate Californian, a diver and fisherman who was lured to New Zealand by its beauty and brilliant light. He was so enamoured by the landscape of Central Otago when he first visited the region that he bought a vineyard in 1998. Today, he owns 36 hectares of vineyard, and together with his small and dedicated team is transformnig Wild Earth into one of Central Otago's most exciting wines. Central Otago is the world's southernmost winemaking region. It is mountainous, rising to over 2000m with the vines planted among spectacular alpine scenery.
