Located entirely in the Saint Julien appellation, the vineyard is planted in a single block on two Gunzian gravel rises oriented north-south. At 24 meters above sea level, the center of the domaine is the highest point in Saint Julien. The red grape varieties, consistent with the Medoc terroir, planted are Cabernet Sauvignon contributing the structure and ageing potential, Merlot provides the fullness and flesh as well as Petit Verdot supplies the fruit and typicity. Traditional manual harvesting allows the best grapes to be selected, vinified in stainless steel vats between 15 and 20 days and aged in Oak Bordeaux barrells 60% new each year while fining takes place using fresh egg whites with traditional racking by candle. Deep in colour with fiery reflections, the nose shows good oak with aromas that are complemented by the fruitiness of grapes from well-tended vines.Solid on the palate with a fine attack, the wine has supple tannins that nonetheless show the potential for long ageing..
