Organic, vegetarian. In the words of the producer 'The quality of the Pinot is very definitely head and shoulders above anything previously produced. With our new winery situation we were able to pick each different clone of Pinot just when we wanted - ea
Organic. Consistently popular over the last year, this excellent Pinot Noir is gamey, mixed with elegant, ripe, raspberry fruit and good balanced tannins. (12 x 75 cl)
Organic. The 2004 has a perfectly balance fruit-driven unoaked stlye. The 2003 is oaked. Some grapes of the 2004 vintage were affected with botrytis and powdery mildew and the only solution to ensure a high quality wine was to use activated carbon at the crusher followed by gelatine immediately after the pressing. This means the 2003 is vegan suitable, but the 2004 is neither vegetarian nor vegan suitable. (12 x 75 cl)
Organic. Intense, classic Sauvignon from the underrated Nelson region on the South Island. Ripe gooseberry fruit combines with tingly acidity, to deliver a wonderfully fresh and vibrant wine in true New Zealand style. "One of the most vividly-flavoured wines I have encountered for a long time. It is startlingly. It is one of those lovely Sauvignon Blancs that come from New Zealand and it smells of cut grass, so vivid, it almost moves into the sort of spilled petrol arena. gloriously fruity. It is a glass and a half. Lovely stuff." Jilly Goolden, Food and Drink, BBC2. (12 x 75 cl)
Organic, vegetarian. Due to a spot of very cold, wet weather at flowering there will be huge shortages of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc in general from the 2000 vintage. Richmond Plains vineyard was worse hit than others. Winemaker Jane Cooper has produced (12 x 75 cl)
Winemakers Note: A new clone of Pinot Noir which has improved the colour and flavour of this variety has been producing in Seifrieds vineyard since 1993. Careful canopy management and leaf removal around the fruit zone allowed the sun to fully ripen the fruit. The grapes were crushed and fermented on their skins. After pressing, the young wine underwent a malolactic fermentation before spending time in new and two year old French and American oak barriques respectively. Tasting Note: Richly coloured, fragrant, warm and mouth filling, this wine has excellent depth of berries and spice, with a slight earthiness which adds complexity to a delicious wine. (12 x 75 cl)
An elegant Riesling revealing delicate floral, honeyed lime and citrus. The palate has a pleasing weight with a sense of the warmer climate and yet the wine possesses invigorating lime-y acidity and a lovely mineral-focused finish. (12 x 75 cl)
