Guado al Tasso GUADO AL TASSO Bolgheri Superiore DOC Tuscany
Extraordinary intense ruby red in colour. Intensely fruity, more of cherry than cassis, with hints of toast, coffee and dark chocolate. Finely structured and complex; balanced, with soft tannins and a lingering finish. Displays unmistakable varietal flavor while retaining strong regional character. Merlot was harvested at the beginning of September, the Cabernet Sauvignonfrom mid September. After destemming and light crushing, the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon were vinified separately; maceration took place in stainless steel tanks over a period of 15-20 days, during which time alcoholic fermentation was also completed, at a temperature never exceeding 30 ºC. The resulting wine is rich in colour and very structured but soft on the palate, without any astringency. The wine were then transferred to new French oak barriques where malolactic fermentation was completed by the year's end. The wine were then racked, blended and then returned to the barrels for about 14 months aging, followed by aging for about one year in bottles before release.
Guado al Tasso Vermentino di Bolgheri DOC Tuscany
This wine has an accentuated personality and results straw gold in colour with greenish reflects, intense, fruity perfume with typical hints of this grape variety. On the palate is full, armonic and with a long finish. The grapes coming from vineyards on the Tenuta Guado al Tasso Estate, were harvested in the early hours of the morning and, in order to give a good structure and aromas, a small quantity were vinified with the ''crio-maceration'' method and the other quantity were gently pressed. The two parts of must were then cooled down to induce natural clarification. The wine was then racked and the alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature which was kept below 18ºC. The wine obtained is stored in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature until bottling, in January . The vinification techniques employed have made it possible to enhance aromas and the typical varietal structure. (6 x 75 cl)
