The success of their wines is demonstrated by the fact that there are now more than thirty vineyards on Waiheke Island. The Goldwater philosophy is simple - great wine is born in the vineyard. Therefore, careful site selection, sustainable viticultural practices and meticulous vineyard management, including innovative trellising and low yields, ensure the production of exceptionally high quality grapes. The grapes are hand picked and whole bunch pressed, barrel fermented and aged in French oak (40% new). While the wine is raised on yeast lees with battonage for eight months. Pale green gold coloured wine with a boquet showing clean stonefruit characters with lime and toasty oak balanced by subtle autolysis aromas. A fine silky texture wine with stonefruit and oak flavours nicely balanced with ripe acidity giving a long and refreshing finish.
