Classic style Dao: ruby red, with a soft stewed fruit nose and a clean dry finish with a note of almonds. Predominant grapes are Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro. Grao Vasco is the best-known wine from Dao, now produced in Sogrape's winery at Quinta dos Carvalhais. (12 x 75 cl)
Purchased by Alexandre Relvas in 1997, the 175 ha Estate is located in the municipality of Redondo, Alentejo and 36 ha are planted with vines on clay-schist soils. This wine is a blend of Aragones or Tempranillo as it is known locally, Trincadeira and Cabernet Sauvignon. The complex aromas of plum stand out while notes of toast from ageing in oak barrels are also evident. The aromas develop on the palate as the fine tannin structure offers round and balanced flavours leading to an enjoyable finish. (12 x 75 cl)
Blackcurrant in colour with rich mulberry aromas and flavours. Attractive spicy ripe red berry and cherry fruit aromatics, showing a nice freshness. On the palate this red is sweet, soft juicy fruit on a smooth, round palate. Good supportive tannins giving the wine balance and structure it is showing a medium bodied style with generous fruit and excellent mouthfeel. (12 x 75 cl)
