Matured in oak barriques for 18-24 months this wine is powerful and concentrated with a flavour of ripe red fruits underlined by toast, spice and herbs (6 x 75 cl)

Matured in French barriques for 6 months and then in the traditional large oak barrels. Tradition and a little innovation combine to produce a wine showing excellent fruit, structure and balance with a nice lick of oak. The vineyard is over 20 years old ensuring low yields and excellent fruit quality ensuring power and good ability to age (6 x 75 cl)

In 1978 John and Harry Mariani, successful American importers, joined forces with Italy's leading enologist, Ezio Rivella; their objective was to produce top-quality wine on a scale never before attempted in Italy. Conte Placido is a member of the Banfi stable of wines and owe their phenomenal popularity to choice grapes grown in some of the world's premier wine regions. The brand inherited its name from a famous Sienese family, the Placidi, on whose vast estate some of the Placido vines grow today. The land was awarded to the family back in the Middle Ages and remained in the possession of its descendants until modern times.
