Description:
This wine is a mix of Semillon (80%), Sauvignon (15%) and Muscadelle (5%). Coppery gold in colour, the wine has a highly concentrated nose of honey, gingerbread and beeswax mingled with fresher notes of acacia and lime blossom, giving an elegant and richly scented whole. Dense on the palate, with body, character and heft, it displays delicate floral notes and fuller flavours of very ripe tropical fruit. The complex flavours of the elegant and unctuous finish reflect an ample and generous vintage.
Since 1933 Baron Philippe de Rothschild, located at Pauillac in the Medoc, has been motivated by a constant ambition: to make the world's finest wines, each in its own category, whether the chateaux wines for which it is responsible – the renowned Chateau Mouton Rothschild, a First Growth, and its distinguished lieutenants, Chateau Clerc Milon and Chateau d'Armailhac – or branded wines, like the famous Mouton Cadet or the Mouton Cadet Reserve range (Established in 1996).
Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA has also exported its know-how beyond Bordeaux: to the Pays d'Oc, with a range of varietal wines and, more recently, Domaine de Baron'arques; to California, with Opus One; and to Chile, with Almaviva. One of the key factors behind the company's undisputed success is the art of blending, which it practises with exceptional skill and this is reflected in the Mouton Cadet Reserve range.
