Chateau Fleur de Rol Grand Cru St Emilion
Fleur de Rol employs the ubiquitous Michel Rolland as a consultant. The grapes are harvested by hand and after destemming, the wine is vinified traditionally in cement-epoxy vats with frequent temperature controls. The wine is then aged for 12 to 18 months in high quality oak barrels of which one third are new. This is a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc producing lots of charred, smoky oak on the big, bold and ambitious nose with bags of tar and black fruit. The skin extract is very evident and there is plenty of toasty vanilla flavours from the oak with dark fruit and tar again on the palate. While there is a grippy, confident finish. (12 x 75 cl)
