Description: Isabel Estate Vineyard was established in 1982 to produce premium classical grape varieties in Marlborough. However, prior to the 1994 vintage, Proprietor Michael Tiller, then an airline pilot with Air New Zealand, together with his wife Robyn, operated Isabel Estate successfully as a contract grape growing vineyard supplying some of Marlborough's leading wine producers with much sought after premium fruit.

The character and individuality of their fruit derived from a unique soil profile and vineyard location encouraged them to produce and market their own wine under the Isabel Estate label. This was regarded as the most natural of evolutionary steps.

Isabel Estate aims to produce true 'estate' wines - wines produced only from vineyards under its total viticultural control. Isabel Estate endeavours to produce 'inspired wines that are a strong expression of the individual style and character as determined by the vineyard soil and site'.

Isabel Estate is nestled into the heart of the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, situated at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. Marlborough is New Zealand's largest and most successful wine producing area renowned for the production of exuberantly fruity Sauvignon Blanc and intensely aromatic wines and this is a great example.

A subtle, refined Sauvignon Blanc, the nose displays lemon, honey and fresh cut grass. The palate is a combination of crisp acid and soft viscosity derived from lees time and in oak. The flavours are a combination of stone fruits, citrus and classic Marlborough herbaceous notes. There is a touch of spice on the palate which is quite dense throughout, and a touch of sweetness to offset the acid.

Seresin Estate Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough
This wine is a blend of fruit from our vineyards with varying soil characteristics. Fruit sourced from the Estate vineyard on the upper terraces encompassed five parcels of varied Waimakiriri type soils of alluvial origin with free-draining basalt pebbles. This was supplemented by portions from the Tatou and Raupo vineyards, where the soils are a mixture of alluvial shingles with slightly higher clay contents. Indigenous yeasts and a selection of cultured yeasts were utilised for fermentation, for added complexity and texture. A small percentage of the blend was fermented in older French barriques to add depth, which when combined with regular batonnage, contributes a yeasty creaminess to fill the mid-palate. The indigenous yeast, barrel-fermentation, and extended lees contact are all used to contribute complexity, texture, and integration to this wine. (12 x 75 cl)
Seresin Estate ESTATE Chardonnay Marlborough
Honeyed aromas of peach and apricot fruit. An appealing softness on the palate, full plump and rounded with a structure of acidity that gives the wine purity, superb definition and great length of flavour. (12 x 75 cl)
