Description:
Nowhere is Spain's vinous renaissance more apparent than in the tiny DOC of Priorat, close to Tarragona and Barcelona. High up in the hills around the town of Falset, lies one of the most geographically spectacular regions in Spain.
Vertiginous vineyards that you actually need a ladder to climb, vines sticking out at right angles from 'soil' consisting of nothing but slate and shale and old, old vines contribute to very low yields and ultra concentrated wines. Priorat's explosion onto the world wine scene is a sure testament to the amazing naturally occurring growing conditions found there.
An absolute stunner that proves the world class of the Priorat region but also the credentials of Cartoixa de Montsalvat. This wine is a blend of Carinena 65%, Garnacha(Grenache) 25%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5% and Merlot 5%.
This is a concentrated wine redolent of prunes, ripe dark berries, grilled smoked meats and spice- but it's also extremely well balanced and never gets close to the stewed, porty style of other Priorat wines. The palate is very full but soft with a velvety texture and great length..

This wine is a blend of Garnacha 70% and Carinena 30% from 15 year old vines and has spent 8 months in french oak barrels. A lively blend it is medium to full bodied with bright, spicy, juicy fruit character and succulent texture. It's immensely well balanced and is a great example of modern priorat wine. (12 x 75 cl)

MAS DE MASOS is a very complex and structured wine in all its natural vertiens. This is definitely a wine for wine lovers. Tasting notes: Deep red cherry color. Strong aroma of ripe berries with a mineral and minty finish. Initially on the palate it is lively and viscous with a delicate and rounded tannin, and finishes with a perfect balance of oak combined with the wine. MAS DE MASOS is a great wine from D.O. Priorat, made with Garnatxa Peluda, Garnatxa Pais, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carinyena grapes. The maceration is long and under 12 months processing of the vintage is carried out in new French oak barrels. Wine and food: Its balanced tannins are the ideal accompaniment for good game dishes, fantastic with any red meat dish and excellent with goats cheese. (6 x 75 cl)
