Description: This estate is located in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne in the Haut-Medoc and was purchased by Jean Gautreau in 1969 who started with only 7 hectares and in the last 30 years purchased an additional 50 hectares.

The vineyards, which lie close to the Gironde Estuary, are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (25%), Cabernet Franc (25%) and Petit Verdot (5%). Here the grapes are hand harvested and then fermented in a combination of stainless steel and concrete tanks. The wines are then matured in oak barriques (70-90% new) for 12-15 months. Finally, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

A deep red coloured wine with sophisticated Oak showing throughout this wine. Good fruit flavours are evident while the balance and tannins are well developed leading to a long complex finish.

The colour of this little sister of Sociondo-Mallet is so deep that it looks as if it could rival its senior sibling.
