Colome Torrontes Calchagui Valley Argentina
Color: Brilliant, pale gold, typical of Torrontés. Aroma: Fresh, with flowery notes of honeysuckle and roses, with nuances of lemon and grapefruit. Palate: Predominantly an intense perfume, apricots, with underlying citrus flavors. The mid-palate is thick and rich. General: Well balanced wine, with intense flavors and long finish. Drink over the next two years. Special Advices, Additional: The oldest working winery in Argentina. Built in 1831. Pre-phylloxera Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1854. The highest vineyards in the world growing from 2200 m / 7217 ft to 3015 / 9891 ft altitude. The very high altitude enhance the grape's quality in the following way: Due to the very dry air and the altitude the daily thermal amplitude is extreme . These conditions are ideal to develop intense, very aromatic and complex flavours. Colomé vineyards are farmed biodynamically: Biodynamic agriculture at Bodega & Estancia Colomé is the perfect new-old blend: new as far as the use of techniques and state-of-the-art machinery; old because of the recovery of the germ plasma, techniques and knowledge developed by the Calchaquíes and Incas more than 2,000 years ago on the same land (6 x 75 cl)
