San Silvestro PATRES Barolo DOCG
This wine shows sweet fruit and balanced tannins and is already approachable despite its youth (6 x 75 cl)
Marchesi di Barolo Barolo DOCG Cannubi
This vineyard is situated on the Hill of the Cannubi. A deep, sometimes inky wine, with tobacco aromas. It has a great, smoky complexity and surprising finesse and suppleness for such a weighty wine. A perfect accompaniment to red meat game and cheese. Serve at room temperature. (12 x 75 cl)
Grimaldi Gavi
Grimaldi Gavi from Italy, Piemonte, Gavi by Grimaldi (12 x 75 cl)
Fontanafredda VIGNA LA ROSA DOCG Piemonte Barolo
Bright ruby/scarlet coloured wine with just the lightest hint of orange. The aromas are an exotic mix of ripe dark fruits and leather with hints of dried porcini mushrooms. Smoky ripe plums show in the nose and on the palate that are followed by layers of dusty burnt cherries and bitter oranges which are still held in check by firm, hard tannins that are somehow surprisingly round in their intensity. The finish is restrained by its intense tannins, but the powerful complex fruit flavors are already starting to show through, a wine for long-term cellaring. (6 x 75 cl)
G D Vajra BRICCO DELLE VIOLE Barolo DOCG
G D Vajra BRICCO DELLE VIOLE Barolo DOCG from Italy, Piemonte, Barolo by GD Vajra Barolo Powerful Reds (12 x 75 cl)
Conterno Fantino VIGNA MOSCONI Barolo DOCG
This classic Langhe winery testifies to the talent and vision of Claudio Conterno and his friend and partner, Guido Fantino, who styles the wines. 100 % Nebbiolo from the Vigna del Gris vineyard part of the Ginestra terroir within the commune of Monforte d’Alba. The grapes were harvested in the first 10 days of October then Maceration on the skins in rotary fermenters for about 7-8 days. The Wine was then aged 24 months in oak and approximately a further 12 months in bottle. With Aromas of coffee and hints of dark chocolate it has concentrated fruit flavours to produce a full-bodied wine has chewy tannins and a long, rich finish. (6 x 75 cl)
Rocche dei Manzoni BAROLO DOCG Vigna Big
Deep in colour, delicate floral aroma, with a vanilla note and full flavour. As a native of Piacenza, Valentino Migliorini was unconstrained by Langhe traditions when creating his state of the art cellar in Monforte. The estate is now one of the largest in Barolo, with 40 hectares owned and another 20 rented on a long-term basis, all in the commune of Monforte. Valentino’s pioneering spirit lead to his most famous creation: Bricco Manzoni, the barrique-aged blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera that have inspired many imitations. The Baroli are all superb in the modernist style, with clever use of new oak and powerful expression of the Monforte terroi (12 x 75 cl)
Rocche dei Manzoni BAROLO DOCG Vigna Big
Garnet red colour. A complex, spicy nose leads to a full, austere palate with intense, ripe tannins on the finish. (6 x 1.5 Litres)
Fratelli Casetta VIGNA CASE NERE Barolo DOCG
Single vineyard Barolo sourced in the commune of La Mora. Garnet red with orange reflections, dry full and robust on the palate but equally velvety and harmonious, ripe and delicious. (12 x 75 cl)
