The nose displays a combination of plum, dark cherry and spice aromas, The palate has plum and cheery flavours backed by firm ripe tannins and excellent length Established in 1969 by winemaking legend Stuart Anderson, Balgownie Estate was the first boutique vineyard to be planted in the Bendigo district in more than 80 years. The new owners purchased the property from what is now Beringer Blass in June 1999 and have since invested millions rebuilding the winery and rejuvenating the vineyards. Balgownie Estate is back on track to return as one of Victoria's and Australia's icon wineries. Today, Balgownie Estate boasts two vineyards and cellars: Bendigo, with predominantly old vine Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz as well as small parcels of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and now the cool climate Yarra Valley with the regionally distinctive varietals of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
