Description:
Intense colour with very appealing, almost floral aromas. Impressive depth of flavour, soft, earthy tannins and very good fruit.
This is a typical Reserva of Ribera del Duero that faithfully reflects the characteristics of the vineyard. Low yields per hectare result in wines of great strength and intensity, gradually tamed during ageing until the right balance is achieved between potency and refinement in the mouth. The duration of cask ageing varies from one vintage to the next and is always determined by the oenologist depending on the wine's characteristics, although it is never less than 18 months.
Aster ages its wines in American oak casks and new French oak casks, ideal for highlighting the typical characteristics of the Tinta del Pais grapes (also known as Tinta Fina) that includes high concentration of colour, tannins, aromas and alcohol content. These powerful wines are rounded in the bottle, where initial astringency and sharpness turn into pure silk and velvet.
A blend of Tempranillo with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot has amazing intensity of colour and character from the 16 months oak ageing. Mocha coffee aromas give way to dark fruit flavours on the palate as the balance and complexity deliver through to the finish. (3 x 75 cl)
Dark, intense Morello cherry colour, with new oak and fresh berry aromas. Fleshy, rounded in the mouth with tones of spice and roasted coffee. Brooding in character, there is elegance, strength and style to be enjoyed here. Pure Tinto Fino. (12 x 75 cl)
This wine has an attractive black cherry colour with intensive garnet tones. Potent and complex on the nose. The maturity of the wine is reflected in the black fruit aromas cacao, spicy toasted notes. Smooth, rich and fruity hinting at black fruits and aromatic woods. Wine loyal to its origins that does not disappoint. (12 x 75 cl)
Beautifully seductive oak aged red from 100% Tinto Fino, which is a local clone of Tempranillo. Lovely spicy vanilla oak mingles perfectly with soft, ripe red fruit. (12 x 75 cl)
A very deep, dark garnet red in colour, with concentrated aromas of dark fruit and spices with mineral and fruity notes develop against a backdrop of subtle toasty notes of chocolate and coffee. On the palate it is oily and unctuous, elegant as well as mineral while fine tasty tannins and notes of ripe fruit are evident. A powerful wine with a bold character and finish. Grandes Bodegas were founded in 1985 and their vineyards form one of the best and most modern estates in Ribera del Duero. The red wines from this bodega have a much more fruit driven style than Rioja, although they are made from a strain of Tempranillo called Tinto Fino. (12 x 75 cl)
