Tasting notes: Bright red cherry colour with ruby hints, it has also a good intense deep colour with a violet rim. The oak ageing has been cautious to achieve a good balance between the aromas from the oak and those coming from the ripe fruit and wild fruits as well. It leaves a long and lingering finish that shows the great personality of this wine. This wine is the result of a thorough grape selection in our own vineyard called Pago El Rincón. The yield in this vineyard is 3.800 Kg/ha. The grapes were picked when they reached the optimum acidity, glucometric and poliphenolic maturity from our point of view. The vineyard was under controlled water-stress. The vines are 30 years old. Production: Fermentation of destalked grapes took place under controlled temperature around 28ºC in stainless steel tanks on the first few days. Then it was macerated for four weeks in order to extract a good colour from the cap of skins. The malolactic fermentation underwent in new French oak barrels for three months and after was aged in Russian middle-toast oak barrels for nine months. Wine without clarification and filtration, having these been produced by natural meanings due to natural sedimentation and decantation in the barrel. (6 x 75 cl)

Vinification: Viña Lanciano is made from a selection of the best grapes coming from the vineyard of the same name, located in El Cortijo, Rioja Alta. The vines are 20-25 years old in average, with very low yields . Fermentation of destalked grapes takes place in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature between 24-28ºC. Maceration from 8 to 12 days with frequent pumping-over in order to achieve a good extraction from the cap of skin. Ageing: This wine is aged in American oak barrels for 2 years followed by at least 1 year in bottle. (12 x 75 cl)

Vinification: Fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, temperature of the fermentation 30-32ºC. 3 weeks maceration with constant remontages in order to develop fruit and colour. Fermentation of destalked grapes took place under controlled temperature around 32ºC in stainless steel tanks on the first few days. Then it was macerated for two weeks in order to extract a good colour from the cap of skins. Once the alcoholic fermentation was completed, another maceration in contact with the skins was carried out for three more weeks with light pumping-over to obtain sweet and elegant tannins.. The malolactic fermentation underwent in new French oak barrels. Ageing: This wine was aged in new oak barrels of 225 litre capacity during 18 months, then it entered the bottle ageing stage.
