The blend of La Closeraie is Carignan & Grenache backed up by weighty Mourvedre and Syrah. The Carignan and Syrah undergo carbonic maceration and the Mourvedre and Grenache receive a traditional vinification, with long cuvaisons in all cases. The wine is dark, rustic, spicy and chewy-thick while the nose is typical of many Faugeres wines with empyreumatic fragrances of toast, roasted coffee and smoke combined with aromas of red berries.
