Description: The Bossi castle is situated in the Castelnuovo Berardenga commune in the midst of evergreen woods and fields full of fossil-rich minerals and has been a focus of local history for many centuries. Bought by the Bacci family it has been totally restored while the Bossi wines, made by oenologist Alberto Antonioni, have exalted fruit flavours; they are smooth, rich and complex, a far cry from the rustic tongue-dissolvers one associates with basic Chianti.

The Girolamo is a lush plush Merlot from 30-year-old vines matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. A gloriously fruity wine reminiscent of just-made raspberry jam, silky and ample in the mouth.

The wine enters smooth and almost creamy, massive and full, but not in the least aggressive. Tannins are well integrated with the alcohol, and a seductive, tasty finish lingers quite long. (6 x 75 cl)

The attack is solid and powerful, bolstered by a decisive suite of finely-woven tannins well-integrated into the structure. Very appealing, lengthy finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico DOCG
The Bossi castle is situated in the Castelnuovo Berardenga commune in the midst of evergreen woods and fields full of fossil-rich minerals and has been a focus of local history for many centuries. Bought by the Bacci family it has been totally restored while the Bossi wines, made by oenologist Alberto Antonioni, have exalted fruit flavours; they are smooth, rich and complex, a far cry from the rustic tongue-dissolvers one associates with basic Chianti. This Chianti Classico DOCG uses Sangiovese 90%, Canaiolo 3% and Merlot 7%. Once in the winery vinification occurs in steel vats and the resultant wine matures in French wood barrels for about 8 months. The result is an intense ruby coloured wine with great luminosity. Sweet sensations of toasted oak exalt the fruity component, where one can smell clear scents of mature cherry, refined by very elegant floral notes of violet. A lovely chunky wine with excellent balance. (12 x 75 cl)
Castello di Bossi BERARDO Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG
The Bossi castle is situated in the Castelnuovo Berardenga commune in the midst of evergreen woods and fields full of fossil-rich minerals and has been a focus of local history for many centuries. Bought by the Bacci family it has been totally restored while the Bossi wines, made by oenologist Alberto Antonioni, have exalted fruit flavours; they are smooth, rich and complex, a far cry from the rustic tongue-dissolvers one associates with basic Chianti. The Berardo uses Sangiovese and Merlot that are vinified separately in wooden vats while the maturation takes place in French wood barrels for about 12 months. This has produced an enticing full ruby coloured wine showing seductive aromas combining fresh notes of wild berries with more evolved notes of cinchona and tamarind that suggest a wine of rich complexity. Texturally, the wine is comparatively soft, almost creamy, its tannic component being beautifully amalgamated. (12 x 75 cl)
