Georg Ramoser's Santa Maddalena estate is tiny with only two and a half hectares and another couple that are rented. The Santa Maddalena wine is produced in some districts of the communes of Bolzano, Terlano, San Genesio and Renon. Its name derives from that of a hamlet in Bolzano and is made in limited quantities. An aromatic wine and is produced from Schiava grapes.
The Lagrein is what Ramoser is renowned for. A dense ruby red leads into a nose of coffee, pencil box and berry-skin fruit. The big rich palate offers big sweet tannins and charming mineral touches. (12 x 75 cl)

A superb wine made using several classic South Tyrolean white grape varieties Grape varieties: A selection of our finest white grapes, predominantly Chardonnay Description: Colour: Bright, deep yellow Nose: A complex interplay of floral and fruit aromas Flavour: The fruit aromas follow through on to the palate, supported by richness, concentration, firm but mild acidity with a hint of vanilla Winemaking and maturation: The various grape varieties are crushed together and the juice is fermented in new French oak barriques. Part of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation, after which it is matured for 10 months in barrique, in which time the lees are regularly stirred up. The finished wine is bottle aged for 10 months before release (6 x 75 cl)
