With its altitude of 450-500 meters above sea level, this is the most elevated part of the hill which constitutes the DOCG of Montalcino. This area is known as 'dei Greppi' because of its landscape formed by steep, rugged hills. Thanks to its almost unlimited longevity and flavour complexity, the Brunello di Montalcino Greppone Mazzi is truly a special wine. The golden star which shines on the Greppone Mazzi label is a symbol of the priviliged position which this wine holds within Ruffino's portfolio - a true Sangiovese star and the pride of Ruffino's enologists. This is an elegant and harmonious Sangiovese Grosso, characterised by noble tannins, warm, fruity notes and subtle spicy sensations. It is a perfect wine for long ageing in the bottle.
