The Co-operative Les Coteaux Du Pic built at the foot of the Pic Saint Loup in the area of Saint-Mathieu de Tréviers, has brought together more than three hundred vine growers. It is the result of the fusion of three cooperative cellars. Today it is made up of a centre for collecting grapes in Notre Dame de Londres, a cellar for vinification and storing in the village of Valflaunès and the main cellar for vinification, storing and bottling in Saint-Mathieu de Tréviers. A wine made from 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache it has a deep red colour with purple tints. Complex fragrance with hints of the "garrigue" and fruits of the forest, it is a silky tasting wine, smooth tannin and well balanced wine with a nice finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine de l'Hortus BERGERIE de L'HORTUS ROSE CUVEE CLASSIQUE Coteaux du Languedoc from France, Languedoc-Roussillon, Coteaux du Languedoc by Domaine de l'Hortus Dry (12 x 75 cl)
This is yet another domaine on the famous plateau near Aniane, with varying soil types, including friable limestone, and even the classic galets roules of Chateauneuf fame. Fredéric Pourtalie, started his career as a stagiaire with the illustrious Laurent Vaille of Domaine de la Grange des Peres. He had inherited 25 hectares from his father, who sold his grapes through the co-operative, and after reflection and some re-planting, he produced a minuscule amount of wine in 1999, 2000 and 2001. From the 2002 vintage he vinified grapes from eight hectares, and he is aiming eventually to have a domaine of between 15 and 18 hectares. The wine is made from between 65% and 70% Syrah as well as a little Grenache and Mourvedre. The parcelles and varietals are vinified separately, and the wine undergoes 24 months elevage in barrique, with the Grenache being transferred back to stainless steel after the first 12 months. Domaine De Montcalmes Blanc Coteaux Du Languedoc from France, Languedoc-Roussillon, Coteaux du Languedoc by Domaine De Montcalmes Rich Dry Whites (6 x 75 cl)
This single estate is a class operation in the sunny south. Lots of exuberant flavours and silky smoothness marry well with superlative depth and character. Power, balance and youthful vibrancy with a touch of black pepper are its hallmarks. Delicious. (6 x 75 cl)
Crystal clear with green highlights and a soft, delicate nose that has pleasant hints of acacia and hawthorn blossom. Delicate and fresh in the mouth it has an excellent structure and balance. These 'Marine' vineyards on the edge of the Thau Lagoon are amongst the oldest on the Mediterranean. The area's white wines, originally named the 'Vin de Picardan', have been known for centuries thanks to the 'Piquepoul' grape which thrives here, winning a constant battle with winds and tides.
