It was created using DeLoach's own estate old-vine fruit from the Russian River Valley as well as from other selected California regions, including the Sierra Foothills. Offering inviting aromas of cranberry, black currant and spicy oak, the intense palate blends flavours of red plum, anise and an undercurrent of smoke. A firm acidity and tight tannin structure make thisa wine to enjoy. The Russian River Valley has come to be known as 'America's Burgundy,' and DeLoach is proud to have been an important factor in this distinction. Purchased by Boisset in 2003 and the appointment of new winemaker Greg La Follette (formerly at Flowers on the Sonoma coast) marked the start of their return to form for DeLoach.
