Description:
The Giustiniana vineyards located in Rovereto di Gavi, Piedmont are made from rare ancient soil and here the Cortese grapes used in this wine are grown. Manual harvesting allows the selection of grapes that best balance acids, sugars, microstructures and the original scents of a Gavi wine.
Once in the winery vinification is in wooden vats, where the wine is kept till the month of July following harvesting. Then it is bottled and refined in bottle for a further six months. This care from the vineyard to the winery has produce a delicate yellow coloured wine with greenish hue. The bouquet is fine, intense, with hints of lime and hawthorn combined with a delicate wooden note. A wine with a remarkable personality emerging from a full, very balanced taste, lasting long in your mouth.
La Giustiniana produces two single vineyard Gavis, each unoaked so that the character of the vineyard shines through in the wine. The Lugarara is the most open of the two, as befits the sandier soil in the vineyard, but it has good richness on the palate and nicely moderated acidity. This Gavi di Gavi Lugarara is fresh and clean with good concentration on the palate and mineral and citrus notes. It has good richness and nicely moderated acidity. Enrico Tomalino has transformed La Giustiniana in the past couple of years, and this outstanding estate is now producing Gavi of remarkable character and originality. (6 x 75 cl)

La Giustiniana has 30 hectares of vineyard in production, and makes three single vineyards Gavis. All are unoaked, so the character of the vineyard shines through in each of the wines. The new wine being produced by La Giustiniana is called simply 'Just'. The wine, made solely from Cortese, is a blend of the best grapes selected from Giustiniana's three vineyards. (6 x 75 cl)
The Gavi di Gavi Vigneti Montessora is a wine that is delicate but intense on the nose, with flinty aromas. On the palate it is elegant, well-structured, and has incredible length. Like the best wines from this vintage, it has great depth on the palate yet good acidity and wonderfully expressive aromas. Grapes are grown in the estate’s Montessora vineyard where they are guyot trained at a density of 4000 vines/ha. Soils are mostly gravel with alluvial clay. The grapes were hand harvested in the last week of September, with yields of 30hl/ha. Donato Lanati, one of Italy’s best young consultants, began working with La Giustiniana at the beginning of 1998. His indelible stamp of quality has become increasingly evident in the intervening years. We are certain that the current quality, which puts this estate among the top handful in the zone, is a stepping-stone to new heights for La Giustiniana in particular and Gavi generally. (6 x 75 cl)
An appearance of pale straw, with delicate greenish highlights. The nose is intense with lime fruits and floral aromas that lead to a typical flinty accent, almonds and hazelnut flavours with a long crisp finish. (12 x 75 cl)
The grapes of this wine come from vineyards of Rovereto Ligure in the heart of the 'denominazione' and express the character of Gavi at its best. Easy to drink with a good structure. La Merlina is the name of the farm on Fausto Gemme's 15 hectares estate in the heart of the Gavi production area. Low yields and careful production techniques involving very soft pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation give Gavi di Gavi La Merlina its fine floral bouquet and ripe, fruity palate (12 x 75 cl)
