Jabali Vino Blanco La Mancha DO

Jabali – pronounced Ha-ba-lee – is produced in La Mancha, one of the largest vineyards in the world, where winemaking dates back to the Romans. Cool nights, low rainfall and lots of sunshine produce great fruit used in the production of both the red and white wines that are now available in the UK. Made from Tempranillo this is a medium, vibrant and juicy easy drinking red wine. (12 x 75 cl)

In 1889 Joaquin Martinez Bujanda vinified his first wines in a small building in Oyon and so began the Martinez Bujanda winery. Today, this building has been restored and houses a wine museum which serves as a testimony to the history of this family. Owned by Martinez Bujanda, Finca Antigua is a recently aquired property of almost 1000 hectares, situated between the provinces of Cuenca and Toledo. At an altitude of almost 900m, it has 283 hectares planted with 15 year old vines covering all the noble varities. This white wine is a blend of Viura, Viognier and Gewurztraminer. (12 x 75 cl)

This lively and fruity rose wine has the easy going style that is the hallmark of Blue Nun. Careful selection of fully ripened red grapes from the sunny vineyards of La Mancha in Spain and the Blue Nun Superior Vinification method have together produced this light and refreshing rose. A lovely deep pink coloured wine it is dry in style, but soft and fruity on the palate. One of the world’s oldest German wine brands it was created in 1921 by H Sichel Sohne. From there it has grown to international proportion becoming loved worldwide and in 1995 Sichel merged with Langguth and Blue Nun was born again. (12 x 75 cl)

Fontal Crianza is made with 85% Tempranillo and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from their own vineyards surrounding Fuente de Pedro Naharro and Finca Monte Carbonero. Deep and fresh soils combine with a harsh climate of short summers and long ripening periods define this region and the fruit is charaterised by low yields, great concentration and optimum ripeness. The grapes were hand picked and field sorted, fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature and macerated during 25 days. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation prior to being aged in american oak barrels for twelve months. Finally, the wine us stored for 1 year in a temperature controlled cellar until released. Deep and dense red colour with violaceous hints it is bot clean and bright. Intense and pleasant aromas of ripe fruits are evident with subtle toasted and vanila hints. In mouth it is round and wide as the soft, sweet and tasty tannins play on the palate. Fruity and spicy leading to a long finish this red benefits from the subtle oak influence. (12 x 75 cl)

Intense cherry red colour with elegant violet tones. Well covered. Fine aroma. This is an elegant wine with nuances of black and red fruit and balsamic depths which reflect its slight ageing. This wine is deliciously well bodied and the wood ageing endows pleasant tannins which leave a good aftertaste in the mouth. (12 x 75 cl)
