Le Thibaude has been in the hands of the Crochet family since the 16th century. Jean- Marc Crochet runs the Domaine, which spreads over 10 hectares in the village of Bue in the heart of Sancerre.. The vines have an average age of 25 years and are planted on clay-limestone soils at higher altitude giving the wines structure and concentration, and on clay soils, which contribute fresh mineral characteristics representative of the Bue terrior (12 x 75 cl)
Domaine du Carrou is the personal estate of Dominique Roger. He represents the younger generation of vignerons keen to combine tradition with modern techniques. The vineyards have a very shallow top soil under which one finds a hard chalky soil, which imparts that subtle floral scent to his wines. Pinot Noir is particularly suited to cooler climates, and is ideal in the marginal climate of Sancerre. Only a small part of the estate is given over to Pinot Noir, and it occupies some of the best elevations and exposure. Grapes are hand harvested in small parcels at various stages of ripeness (6 x 75 cl)
