Produced by Australia's second oldest family of winemakers, the Potts family, in Langhorne Creek near Adelaide. The cooler climate here ensures a ripe yet restrained and characterful red. Blending Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon together is classically Australian and this wine is a great example of how these two varieties complement each other so well. Comprising 51% Shiraz and 49% Cabernet Sauvignon the wine displays rich ripe plummy, berry and spice characters from the Shiraz complemented with fragrant herb and mint flavours from the Cabernet. Fine tannins lengthen the palate and tasty oak, from 12 months maturation in french and american oak barrels, adds further complexity to the blend. (12 x 75 cl)
A real blockbuster of a wine with dense, thick, dark cherry and bramble fruit from a blend of Cabernet, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Complex and spicy, this will benefit from keeping but is already very tasty. (12 x 75 cl)

The wine name 'Savitar' refers to a mythical dragon-like monster while the wine comes from the Chinese Block vineyard which is located in the Willunga district at the southern end of McLaren Vale. Parcels of Shiraz averaging 20 years of age are grown on rocky, skeletal soils in the northeast part of the vineyard. The result is a dark red with a vibrant purple hue while the aromatics are bright, elevated combinations of cassis, tobacco and spice-box yet with freshness and vitality. The palate is full bodied, meaty and complex – well integrated oak and tannin provide elements of structure to the wine and it finishes with impressive length. (3 x 1.5 Litres)
Berton Vineyards RESERVE Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia from Australia, South Australia, Barossa Valley by Berton Vineyards Powerful Reds (12 x 75 cl)
These are Bob Berton's words to describe the wines produced from his own vineyard. 'It started as a joke. Cherie and I struggled to get our vineyard established on the the thin bony soil of High Eden, so after 5 years of big time effort, we still had vines that looked like rootlings. To ease the pain, we started calling it the 'Bonsai Vineyard'-and the name stuck.' The first crop of Shiraz has been worth waiting for. Intense, rich and full flavoured with integrated oak, this is a huge Shiraz. (12 x 75 cl)
