A complex Chardonnay, with a delicate fruit, hint of apples, banana and tropical fruit, with a good complexity, richness, a hint of vanilla, good long finish. In 1980 we planted a vineyard of Chardonnay in a parcel of our Estate vineyards Il Bricco in Treiso, in the heart of the Barbaresco area. For many years we had dreamed about making a white wine from our area having only the colour of a white wine but every other character being similar to the ones of a Great red . Since we decided to plant the Chardonnay variety, it had proved the world that in the best soils of the top wine regions world wide it can produce fantastic white wines. Being convinced that the soil in Barbaresco, particularly at our Il Bricco Estate, is producing superb wines, we took the challenge hoping to see our dreams coming through. The yield per hectare is very small , the grapes are carefully selected bunch by bunch and they are late harvested, in order to pick them fully ripe. After a gentle pressing, the juice is fermented 100% in new oak barrels of French oak for a long time. The wine remains on the leavens for an extra period of 8 months. After the bottling it is aged in the bottle for 1 year prior to releasing it. (6 x 75 cl)
Deliciously fresh, fruity, well rounded white wine, slightly aromatic, perfect balance of acidity. Stainless steel vats vinification at carefully controlled temperatures, on the lees for 2 months (12 x 75 cl)
A brilliant straw yellow in colour with a buttery-lemony oak influenced nose. A pronounced ripe fruit character on the palate. Here is a lighter style of Chardonnay with a spicy citrus fruit finish (6 x 75 cl)
This Barbera has an intense ruby colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet is distinguished and vital, with fresh, ripe fruit. The palate is clear and definite, with long and pleasant finish. IThe grapes come from selected vineyards in the villages of Monforte and Castiglione Falletto and from grapes in Pio Cesare own vineyards in the villages of Serralunga and Treiso. The grapes undergo very careful selection to eliminate all imperfections (6 x 1.5 Litres)
Our Dolcetto has an intense ruby red colour with glossy purple hues. The bouquet is intense, distinct and delicately grapey, with a hint of raspberry and pepper. The palate is dry, supple and lively, with red currant and blueberry overtones. Our Dolcetto fully expresses the typical characteristics of this variety: fresh, fruity, supple and exciting. It is a wine that is easy to approach and easy to drink, evoking the emotion of ripe grapes and the joy of spring, yet supported by a fully body. The Dolcetto grapes are grown in selected vineyards around the village of Treiso, Monforte d'Alba, Serralunga and Madonna Como. The exact timing of the harvest is extremely important for all young wines, and Dolcetto is no exception. The goal is maximum ripeness, but not over-ripeness, which would cause the grapes to lose their freshness and liveliness. Only the best bunches are selected so as not to mar the fruitiness and delicate youth of the wine. Generally, the harvest occurs in the last week of September. The grapes are soft-pressed, and fermented under strict temperature-controlled conditions for 6 to 8 days. We typically bottle during the first days of March. (6 x 75 cl)

In 1981 we planted some Chardonnay vines in a single vineyard of our estate in Treiso, replacing an old vineyard of Barbaresco. Since 1985 we produce with these Chardonnay grapes a limited quantity of barrel fermented Chardonnay called Piodilei. We wanted to keep the quantity of this wine very small and in the meantime we wish to give the chance to a wider number of consumers to enjoy our Chardonnay. In September 1993 we decided to ferment in stainless-steel tanks a part of our Chardonnay: the results was a fresh and vibrant wine with evident hints of ripe fruits. After some experiments we noted that adding to this wine a 25% of the same Chardonnay fermented and aged in new oak barrels, we reached an interesting wine spicy taste and persistent after-taste. So that we decided to create a new Chardonnay, with more pronounced fruity character but slightly lighter style. L'Altro in italian means (12 x 75 cl)
