95% Tempranillo as well as a little Graciano and Mazuelo this wine will be aged 24 months in oak casks, and more than 5 years in bottle. The result of great care from the vineyard to the winery is an intense, dark ruby coloured wine with amber glints. On the nose it is powerful, rich and seductive showing vegetable/tobacco aromas. Dark ruby red in colour with amber glints the nose is very pronounced showing seductive figs, apricots, nuts, savoury vanilla oak bouquet. 100% Tempranillo and aged 6 months in American oak has produced a wine with an enticing summer-fruit nose with vanilla pod undertones. Luscious, smooth, mature damson and strawberry fruit on the palate give way to rounded, creamy, vanilla flavours, while the good weight and structure are well balanced, leaving a very pleasant lingering aftertaste. Made from a selection of the very best Tempranillo grapes from vines over 20 year old are used for the production of Reserva and Gran Reserva wines. Once in the winery the fruit is aged 15 months in American oak casks and released early before Reserva status, but with all the qualities of Urbina's Reserva wines. The result is an intense, dark ruby red coloured wine showing a very concentrated nose of berries, damsons, and figs. Full-bodied character with rich fruit cake and savoury vanilla flavours on the palate make this a well-structured wine as the mellow, firm tannins give through to the long finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Bodegas Urbina is a family-owned, single estate winery with 75 Ha. of vineyards. Four generations have been dedicated to the cultivation of their vineyards and organic methods have been adopted. The bodega is situated in Cuzcurrita de Rio Tiron, on the northwestern edge of Rioja and since 1975 the bodega has aged and bottle their own wine in order to retain the special characteristics of a small single estate. 100%Tempranillo this wine is an atractive Cherry-Red colour with Ruby-Red glints. Intense primary aromas with red berries tones are supported by slight aromas of liquorice and flowers.
