Description:
Since 1920, Dominio Lasierpe have been producing wines from their 1300ha of vineyards - one of the biggest single landholdings in the whole of the region. With rootstocks on average 30 years old and a wide range of varietals planted inluding Garnacha, Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano, Viura, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
More recently, Lasierpe (like many traditional Spanish producers) has undergone a winemaking revolution in order for its wines to compete internationally. A modern winery has been developed with huge investment in oak and technology.
A well rounded, juicy blend of Spain's most important grape varieties. Soft, yet structured with a supple feel coupled with bright raspberry and plum fruit character.
Generic Tasting Notes A blend of the 6 red varieties grown on the estate. Intense, deep colour with toasty oak on the nose, wild blackberry and leathery notes balanced by ripe, rounded tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is long and dominated by ripe fruit. Producer Notes A stunning estate in the Puente la Reina area of Navarra. Substantial new investment and the appointment of winemaker, Jesus Lezaun has brought the wines to a new level of excellence, with elegant packaging providing a very complete and exciting range of wines. Vinification Vinedo Sotes, named after the locality of the estate is a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Merlot, Cabernet, Graciano and Manzuelo. The wine reflects both the winemaking style of oenologist Jesus Lezaun and the terroir of Sarria's vineyards.Depending on the vintage the wine sees between 3 and 6 months in new allier casks following malolactic. The grapes were harvested by hand in September-October and gently pressed by pneumatic press . Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel and malolactic fermentation followed. The wine is then transfered to 100% new Allier oak barrels for 3-6 months. (6 x 75 cl)
